Famous for the Giostra del Saracino (Saracens' Jousting Tournament), the last Sunday in August and the first in September, which recalls the clashes between knights who "ride with a lance" and the king of the Indies, Buratto, Arezzo proudly shows off its medieval face, starting with its city walls.

Among its most prestigious works of art, absolutely not to be missed are the "Leggenda della Croce" (cycle of frescoes by Piero della Francesca, in S. Francesco) and Cimabue's "Crucifix" (S. Domenico).
