The wonderful main city of Umbria, between the green Tevere valley and Trasimeno lake, is 65 km from Lucignano.

Entering the city takes you through the arches and Etruscan walls and immediately you are entranced by the fascinating old streets, noble buildings, the marble of the churches with their Guelph lions and the gryphons, symbol of the Palazzo dei Priori.

The Maggiore Fountain is enchanting; the Perugino frescoes are superb, depicting heroes, sibyls, prophets and virtues.

Perugia is a great university centre, with its many artistic and cultural events.
