Tuscany is a land of great wines and good food.
Everything in this region brings to mind a new renaissance of good food, an unchanged love for tastes, aromas and intriguing, sensual, real colours.
In Arezzo and Siena area, on the crests of gentle slopes, wind roads that pass noble architecture and huge vineyards, home to important and rightly famous wines: Nobile and Rosso from Montepulciano, Brunello and Rosso from Montalcino, Chianti from Arezzo's hills.
In the same countryside the Chianine are born and bred, the royal family of the cattle world, with pigs too, nearer Siena.
In the restaurant of I Girasoli holiday home, all this is considered a cultural heritage to be looked after with love and care.
The cuisine is typically Tuscan, with careful attention paid to tradition.
As well as the famous tagliata (sliced rump steak) other special dishes can be tasted; tegamaccio (pork stew cooked in a terracotta covered dish with spices and local herbs), ribollita di pane, (vegetable soup with Tuscan bread), Arezzo style duck, pici (home-made pasta with Tuscan meat sauce), home-made cantucci, (biscuits with almonds).
Plus, try innovative new dishes bringing the best out of fresh produce from the area.
The wine list, which proposes wines from all regions, obviously gives a wide rein to Tuscany and above all to the super Tuscan wines, but also proposes products from the new, innovative wine cellars which abound in this zone.
A list, therefore, that brings together the guarantee of the traditional value of well-known wines with the pleasure of discovering others that will be famous tomorrow.
